Lungfungus kinda sucks a lot

Been a few days. Didn't have much interesting to relate. Also been having another fit with the lung-fungus. The islamotards are doing islamotard stuff and the interest quotient is slightly under that of mashing a mole Rima dug up. The neverending pile of shit.

I posted this Winston Churchill bit something over a year ago and it has now been re-posted on the FR.

Winston Churchills' view of Islam

"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property, either as a child, a wife, or a concubine, must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities - but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."

Either I had to do a search on the web or in my archives or on this site to get the full article or tell you to do it . You do it. Good stuff.

There's more good stuff here and you won't read it in one sitting. I'm only up to chapter 3, plan to read 3 per day. Since 9/11, I've gotten all re-interested in reading religion, Africa, and many things Arabic. Seems a shame that the islamists probably will generate some sort of end times crap. You in the USA probably don't know how vulnerable your economy and social structure is. That tiny atomic bomb ended the very effective Japanese Imperial Empire when it was used on a secondary city, the second one was only to impress the Russians. The technology to build those toys is over 60 years old. Easy as pie for any country bigger than Rhode Island. Hell, RI could probably re-fit a couple of plants and build a few before Thanksgiving. The "Super", well it DOES require a bit more. Might take RI another few weeks to go from 20 KT to 20 MT. Much sadness. Kinda wish our collective contributions and reasonable intelligence could have been used doing the fun stuff.

STATE BUREAUCRACY UPDATE

Daily Policy Digest

STATE AND LOCAL ISSUES

Tuesday, February 07, 2006

The nation's 16 million state and local government workers form a large, growing and well-compensated class in society, says Chris Edwards, Director of Tax Policy Studies at the Cato Institute.

According to Edwards:

* State and local workers earned $36 per hour in wages and benefits in 2005, compared to $24 for private sector workers.
* School teachers and administrators increased 22 percent between 1994-2004; by contrast, the number of children in public schools increased only 9 percent during the same period.
* Police, fire, corrections and legal staff grew on average 21 percent over the last decade.
* State and local health bureaucracies have grown as Medicaid spending has exploded.

The size of state and local bureaucracies varies widely by state, says Edwards:

* The largest bureaucracies are in Alaska, Washington D.C., and Wyoming, with government workforces reaching 16.6, 16.2 and 16.1 percent, respectively, of the total workforce.
* Nevada had the smallest bureaucracy with a workforce half the size of Alaska's at 8.6 percent, followed by Rhode Island, 9.5 percent, and Pennsylvania, 9.6 percent.

Numerous factors affect the size of bureaucracies in the states, including demographics, crime level, and differing propensity to contract out or privatize government tasks, says Edwards. Corruption and waste also play major roles as they reduce the effectiveness of government's ability to operate efficiently.

One conclusion, says Edwards, is that there seems to be substantial room for increased government efficiency in many states. The data indicates that some states are able to deliver government services with many fewer workers than do other jurisdictions.

"Government cannot achieve the efficiencies of a business. Trying
to get government to be as efficient as business is as hopeless as
trying to teach cats to bark and dogs to meow." ---Walter Williams
The local (next county over) Voting Commisar was getting paid $77,000 plus $40,000 in perks per year 8 years ago. The book indicated she had >15,000 voters under her aegis at the time. Part-time job. She's still employed. Don't ask me about local pay vs local gummit pay. I won't discuss it. I'll just send you to folk that might if you don't mind a taxpayer revolt. Since in excess of 40% locally are gummit employees one way or the other (got weird here somehow) and even with the direct full welfare gerbils down to something around to 20% of the population not counting the Mexicans (different accounting, very strange recently), there are jobs. Skilled construction work will yield sometimes $12/hour for a good guy with 10+ years of experience. $9 is more likely. Zero med, zero sick leave, 2 weeks vacation after 5 years (1 week before). Same as the wetbacks get except if they have a child support problem with the Mexican system, they don't have 3/4ths of their pay pulled! I rather am enjoying the huge herd of Mexi's, got a couple of Guatamalans that are what as known as black carib's that I'm trying to communicate with. Built like stumps, have teeth fit to eat moderate sized trees. They smile a lot. Disconcerting. Fortunately I'm too old and scrawny to be part of their diet (that was one of our first communication breakthroughs! ;o) Damn good workers and they have been trained to run like deer when the INS woosies show up. Five fairly large local firms that I'm very familiar with (>10 M/yr) no longer hire anything but illegals. No insurance, no benes required. Da gummit does that from us dat pays da taxes. Lord have mercy how the very pretty little brown grrls have babies. Scads and scads.
I truly belive it is too late to legislate. Haven't the foggiest idea to keep Florida from becoming another Mexican population explosion zone since it has already happened. A old buddy, born and raised around Miami back in the 20's decided it was hopeless and tried to learn Spanish. I had a couple of years of HS Castillian. Guess how far that goes with Mexican Spanish! Perro. Gato. Cervesa. Sester. Marijuana. Uno Librium (after a night in Nuevo Youforgotsanity).
Florida will, if it isn't already, be more Mexican than any other state brew within one more election cycle. Best guesstimate is >30% by folk paying attention and other than the solid negro counties. Guv. Bush has done a fine job of cleaning up a big bunch of welfare fraud (votes for 'weafare'), done the best possible with the skool system (kinda), and has, even with me being moderately pissed-off with 3 failures, been the best governer Florida has had for 50 years. He'd make a fine prez. Better than his bro. Jeb is a "high-bush" cuppa tea! OK. Shoot me. I don't mind. The last head shot and leg shot hurt a bit. Unfortunately for the generating end, I was armed. The one that shot me in the leg got a center-mass. Head shot got .223 between the eyes. Damn leg shot hurt like the devil. Sombich needed some pain for being such a sorry shooter.
>30 years. Put to rest.

10 + PM, just walked through the news sites again. Who the hell could possibly give a damn about those various and assorted cartoons? Jesus H. and his kid brother Herman. Idiocy from every level. That really freaky newsclip from Iran is bothersome. Looks a awful like Russia back around 1960 only grey. Nazi. The bugger running the country seems to think Armageddon and the 12th something or the other is due in 2 years. His armed forces are enough. Back when Mr. K of the USSR and Mr. K of the USA were fussing about the IRSM's in Cuba back when I'd just got my General Class ham licence and discovered Tanya, our mutual nuke weapons combined were less than what the English have now. The French have about the same. Very few were simply atomic, most were augmented fission. Nasty things. Beautifully designed. Filthy as Hell.

Time to take a night hike. Rima is all fussed out. I pretty-much knew, not a fret, got a smile after a neighbor's kid developed the woodland critter-cam. Mz. bear is seriously establishing her territory. Yes, I carry a boomstick when she's being bitchy. It's been 8 years since I had to do the front door stuff (running like hell for it! ;o), 3 years since making noise, been thinkin' about shooting her this year. Been a while since I've eaten bear. ..nah. She's probably not the one that ate my idiot cat or the young shep. Besides, bear really isn't good meat. Good if you're hungry. Horse is better.

Colder than a ex-mother-in-laws's cunt. Outside thermometer is most of 30 years old. Last one made in the US. Took the lab thermo out. 23 degrees. No wonder it felt a little frosty. Nice hike with knucklehead. She steered the direction and I got a smile of her picking a path close to 180 from where Mz. bear is occupying the terrain! Yeah, I brought the boomstick. Hidiously noisy. Nope, no prob and yep, had there been one, it would have just got noisy. I only shoot meat or trash. Not so little Rima is asleep under the desk. I'm going to have to find another as there is a possibility I just might outlive her. The possibility is low but I couldn't survive without a critter or 14. Dogs don't bite real people too often, they never require special services, and they eat (bite into muscle tissue) thieves. They love chillen more than most mamas, guard the fort, and once they are over 6 months old, rarely shit on the footpaths.
Been many years, won't do it again, et dawg. Not bad. Didn't speak the language. Tasty.

Large fire in the woodstove, feet are thawing, shitferbrains is making flappy noises. just checked the lab thermometer. Same. Must be some cloud cover. Got to out to go drain the single garden hose that runs thru the bareass greenhouse.
I need company. Been 18 years. No. I don't need company. Hidiously overpriced.
Kinda nice though. Girl-company is pretty-much the same as congressional K-Street. $500/hour for the low-priced spread. The good stuff, well, one pays everything and gets to also pay for her abortions from the others when they rig it such that their wives don't get too critical. The "universal lover" (cool dude), that was special. I've yet to meet a female born after 1960 that refused sex where there was a bag of money or prestige. Not one. Turned around, I doubt if it would be the same.

Just took another frosty walk. Got 1/4 mile out and came back. Wet tennis shoes, miserable. Put on the boots. Noisetube over the shoulder, muscular knucklehead running ahead. Goddam beautiful night. She's a peculier dawg. Been totally fucked-up since the idiot did the triple-tap killing of her mother between a couple of the '04 hurricanes. She's painfully shy. 7/8 shep by blood, built stronger than a pitbull, immensely fierce with unknown, immensely shy with humans. Sooo gentle with pups, so totally refusing of any human but self.

Comments:
Suwannee county swamper? Live Oak ain't really the big city, is it? a real earthen house? cool.
